Watamote is one of those series that captures a lot of attention in the first couple of minutes. Not only is the show about a very introverted, awkward girl, but even the opening feels very out of place in this show. While the lyrics capture the spirit of the show, the music and visuals rather compete with the overall feel of the show and as a result, feel rather out of place. However, understanding the true nature of the show, and the awkward situations that follow, it can be reasonable to situate this style of opening with this show. Not to mention Suzuki Konomi’s glorious performance and this opening rocks the show solid.
