Heyos Everyones!!

Didn’t think you’d hear back from little ole’ me, did ya? Well I’m back and I’m ready to start back, right where I left off!! But before that, just a few notes to keep everyone updated on what has changed.

First, Dowase Entertainment had a successful run at Saboten-Con 2013, and will hopefully be appearing at Kikori-Con 2013 and future conventions in the Arizona area. As always, we’ll be front-running with our ‘Name that Anime Tune!!’ panel, with some new games and informational panels that we’re starting up to generate a creative and fun experience for all.

Second, I’ve not seen much anime this year. As such, my backlog is >9000. This is one of the reasons as to why I’ve not made many posts thus far, and why I’ve kinda fallen back on everything. With the end of Saboten, I’ve realized that my passion for anime has been rekindled, and the life blood of the blog and website has been reborn.

So while I’ve not much to say at this point in time, I can say that there will be more posts in the future, and I will be updating the main page with our new panels and plans for the future.

Until Next Time,

-Ace

P.S. Free and Attack on Titan are the next on my list of anime to watch, so there may be something on those these next few weeks.

What a Month of Wacky Shenanigans

Heyos Everyones!!

Wow. It’s been awhile since my last post, and damn, have things gone up and down these past few weeks. Not only is my personal life demanding, even with the absence of school, but the con season is starting and my wallet still hasn’t recovered from my last outing. To top it off, this anime season looks amazing, and I’ve yet to see any of it.

First off, in terms of conventions and what-not, Phoenix Comicon was fantastic! We held our panel, Name that Anime Tune!, to great success, even with the lack of time and computer screen (My laptop screen is broken and caused some slight problems during the panel). However, I’ve also noticed some improvements to be made for our panel at Saboten 2013, should we be accepted, and I will probably give out the original program if enough people want it. I just want to improve and ease some tasks within the program, which will reduce the chance of human error and allow people to have a better time. That was my intention when I first programmed the panel, and I intend to improve upon that idea as much as possible.

Anime Expo 2013 is coming up around the corner, and while I don’t have too much to look forward to (Other than Porno Graffiti, which is pretty cool, and the usual convention getaway), I know that it’s going to be a blast being away in L.A. once again!! As for anime this season, I have a lot of shows that I want to try, but due to time constraints and real life issues, I’ve yet to take the time to watch them. Soon though, I shall finish the series I started and write impressions once again! Then the blog will bustle and thrive!! (Not really, but I can dream, no?).

I really don’t have much else to say, but I wanted to make sure people know that I’m not down and out yet, and I will come back once time permits me to. It’s been rough, yes, but with every event one endures they thrive and improve their ideas, views, morals, and beliefs. Until next time,

-Ace

Welcome Back, Dowase Entertainment!!

Welcome back, old friend.
Welcome back, old friend.

Heyos Everyones!!

These past weeks have been full of excitement and mayhem, and I can truly say I have loved every minute of it. Sure, work may suck, but hell, the experiences I held have been the best I have ever had. First off, Aselia Con (The first Tales Of convention in the United States) went off amazingly, and the turnout was much more significant that I had anticipated! Therefore, Dowase Entertainment will happily be returning next year with our panels and fun. Second, Con-Nichiwa (An anime convention in Tucson, AZ which had over 1500 unique attendees) was a blast, and I’m proud to say that our panel (Name that Anime Tune!) was a huge hit! In terms of conventions and panels, Dowase Entertainment is steadily becoming more and more well known, and I’m enjoying every minute of it.

Next up, we have Phoenix Comicon, which we again will hold our “Name that Anime Tune!” panel. We have some other conventions we are aiming for, but I’ll have to keep that sealed until I have confirmation.

But that isn’t the only big news that I have today! Today, April 2nd, 2013, Dowase Games Entertainment has fully transitioned to Dowase Entertainment. Not only do we plan on releasing games in the future, but the group will also be considered a panelist group that programs our own games for our panels. For example, our “Name that Anime Tune!” panel utilizes an engine developed by myself, and our other gaming panel (Crazy Wacky Game of Shenanigans) will also be programmed and developed in-house by myself. It’s going to be awesome, and I can’t wait to get everyone pumped for the fantastic games and activities we have planned for our attendees!

In light of our completed revamp, the official site has returned, and my blog has once again taken to the sidelines. Finally, information can now be accessed via the site, and soon everything will be complete, functioning, and easy to use. Please look forward to our changes, and thank you for reading my blog, putting up with my nonsense, and just being a visitor to the site.

However, this does not mean that I will completely stop blogging. If anything, I will be blogging more now that my motivation hath returned to me. For now, the site updates will be made via my blog, until I restore the forum functionality to the site. For now, however, stay cool everyones. Thanks again for coming to the site, and look forward to the changes we have in store for the rest of 2013!!

A Quick Monthly Update

Merry Christmas! What d'ya mean it's March?
Merry Christmas!
What d’ya mean it’s March?

Heyos Everyones!

Wow, time is really going by, and I’ve yet to catch my breath with all the crazy shenanigans going on lately. Not only do I have school and work, but events have been coming up in life that have severely impacted my activities with anime, manga, and gaming. Not to say it’s necessarily a bad thing, but it’s definitely not something I’m used to. Regardless, that’s why there hasn’t been a post on here for over a month, and why I’ve yet to add any new reviews or impressions. In other news, this weekend marks the very first ‘Tales of’ convention, taking place in Ft. Worth Texas! Aselia-Con will be giving fans of the Tales series a place to gather and share the love for this fantastic series, and Dowase will be there holding two panels. Come on down and check it out if you happen to be in the area, as it’ll be fun all around! Additionally, Dowase Entertainment will be attending Con-Nichiwa in Tucson, AZ on the weekend of the 22nd, so feel free to stop on by then and have some fun! It’ll just be the usual ‘Name that Anime Tune!’ panel, but it’ll be a lot of fun and I hope anyone who is going to the convention can make it and check us out!

In other news, I just completed Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the first time in my life. Well, kinda. I’ve beaten the game without collecting all the emeralds before, but only recently have I beaten the game with all the emeralds and in one sitting. I must say, Sonic 2 is a fantastic game, and I really understand now how people claim it to be the best in the series. I’ve always been the bigger fan on Sonic 3 and Knuckles, mainly because the game was just so damn fun and I have so many experiences with it. But, I can beat the game easily without even trying and getting all the emeralds just isn’t as rewarding anymore. When I finally beat that seventh special stage, I felt content. I felt like I had earned the right to play as Super Sonic, and the feeling was oh-so-satisfying. The Genesis Sonic games are the best in the franchise, and they will forever hold a place in my heart.

Well, it’s about time for me to head off. Have a fantastic time, and if ya happen to be in the Ft. Worth area, come visit Aselia-Con!

It’s the Shortest Month of the Year!

Modern Magic. A series that was okay, yet not necessarily memorable
Modern Magic. A series that was okay, yet not necessarily memorable

Heyos Everyones!

It has been an incredible past few weeks, with changes to both my online and off-line life. Unfortunately, these past few weeks have left me quite behind on the current season’s status, but let me get a few things clear before I continue on.

First off, I will not be watching any new series until I have finished what is on my plate already. This seems fairly simple, but in addition to this, I also mean that I will continue the series that I have wanted to re-watch and “review” before I start on the previous season. Quite frankly, I don’t find much appeal to the new season of anime, especially with KyoAni crapping all over faithful fans and churning out generic crap every season. Once I get another show with quality animation and quality story, then I will finally begin watching their series again. I just find more fulfillment in the series of the past that I may have overlooked, so I feel it is finally time to watch them in all their glory.

With that out of the way, life in general has been quite simple and clear. Classes are going quite well, with a few minor setbacks and what-not, but I feel every semester will have some flaws. Gaming-wise, I purchased Ni no Kuni, which is an amazing game, and definitely deserves a play at least once in your life. The music is pure bliss, the gameplay is magic, and the story telling is phenomenal. On another note, I got my hands on Rewrite, the latest KEY novel to be released, and I am ready to have a good time on that ship.

For the conventions on this year., I have two scheduled and hopefully more planned. I can say that Dowase Entertainment will be in the Dallas area on March 14~March 18 for Aselia-Con, a Tales convention that will specialize in the Tales fandom. After that, we’ll be in Tucson, AZ for Con-Nichiwa 2013 between March 22~March 24. March is going to be a busy month, and I can’t wait to see what’ll come of the trip!

In regards to life, I think everything has been said, and updates will be made once time is alloted. I’ve got some little things planned, but nothing final yet, so look forward to that!

What’s goin’ on in December?

Oh boy, it’s Taiga from Toradora.

Heyos Everyones!

It’s been a good while since I’ve had the time, inspiration, and motivation to write a new post. First off, I’ve not been watching anime lately, due to school and just general lack of interest. This season has in general been pretty unappealing, and if anything, seems to push me toward watching and re-watching older series that I have fond memories of. Luckily, with school over, and my bad semester completed, I now have less worries and more time to complete some of my goals and write up some new posts. I’m currently watching Hagure Yuusha no Estectica, and I’ll probably get an impressions post of it as I complete it. Some other series are coming to an end, so expect more posts to end this dry season.

In terms of life outside of anime and gaming, it’s been really tame, yet confusing. All of my classes save for one have been fantastic, and work has been the usual bullshit. But, there have been some silver linings, and I can say I’m pretty damn content right now. I may just be following the waves, but at this point, there isn’t much I can do. Even if I make a plan, one little nudge sets the path off-course and sends me spiraling off to nowhere. Maybe it’s because I’m just a naive twenty year old student, but it’s odd seeing the amount of change go around and I can safely say I could not have seen myself in this situation a year ago.

As for gaming, I bought a PSVita for Black Friday, as Amazon had an amazing bundle which pretty much led to the final price being around $100. Not bad. I bought Persona 4 and have been enjoying that, while I also have been having so much fun with Gravity Rush. That game is phenomenal, and the music is outstanding. On another note, Tales of Xillia will be releasing in English sometime next year, and I can’t wait to get my hands on that game. I love the Tales series way too much.

In all honesty, I really don’t have that much to say right now, other than school has pretty much ended, life has been going well, and this site’s going to be active once again. I can only take so much before I crack, and I’m happy to say that the time to watch and pour my emotions over anime have come again. Until next time,

-Ace

Just Another Day in November!

Aw, I missed my Halloween picture. =( Might as well use it now!

Heyos Everyones!

This week sure has flown, and I can’t believe it’s already Veteran’s Day Weekend! I’m getting ready to head off to Flagstaff for Anime Kaigi (Although, by the time this is posted, I’ll have already been there xP) and I can’t wait to attend yet another convention. It’s a little smaller than I’m used to, but I’m sure there is plenty of enjoyment to be had at these smaller, local cons. On that note, I’ll also be holding my Name that Anime Tune panel, which I hope anyone local plans on attending! Unfortunately, with all this work piled up due to school, work, and preparation for the convention, I haven’t had much to put on this site recently. Hopefully after the convention I’ll have more articles to write up because I’ll actually be watching some anime. I’ve been watching Kokoro Connect, and I can’t wait to get my impressions up on that series. It’s rather… unique.

Well, just wanted to get some heads-up to why the website has been so barren, and I hope that activity will resume after this brief intermission. Seeya!

Reflecting on the Month That Passes

Is that really what you think?

I usually don’t make posts on the weekend, and I think the main reason behind my posting today is the time since my last personal ‘blog’ post. It’s hard to think that my past few posts have been regarding anime, but that’s what happens when the season ends and multiple series finally come to an end. I’m absolutely looking forward to the end of Sword Art Online and Hayate, as I already have some strong words for those series that I won’t dwell into today.

I finally registered for classes next semester at Glendale Community College, and hell, I don’t know if I’m looking forward to the work load next year. Not only do I have Calculus 2 and Physics 1, but I’ve got to take Summer classes just to make it in time to transfer to Northern Arizona University in time for the Fall semester. While this won’t be an easy six months, it all concludes on the weekend of July 4th, which means Anime Expo will be the celebration time that allows me to relax and enjoy myself. While this seems far away, it’s scary knowing that it’ll be here before I know it, and it’s time to start getting preparations ready for my trip to L.A.

Speaking of conventions, Anime Kaigi is less than two weeks away, and I’m still holding my Guess that Anime Tune panel that Saturday. If you happen to follow this blog and live near Flagstaff, AZ, come check it out! I’ve got some sweet prizes to give away to those who know their stuff about anime openings, and if you happen to reference my rant about why anime openings are amazing then I’ll find something awesome to give ya.

Well, I think I’ll start watching some anime series again, now that I feel things are starting to slow again. While I still need to finish Little Busters!, I’ve completed most of the game, and only have two characters left. It’s a fantastic VN, and it’s up there with Clannad. Now if only KyoAni would stop being ca$hcows and actually animate something that’s not slapstick comedy. J.C. Staff wasn’t the studio for Little Busters!, and I don’t think they will be able to change my opinion on this, after seeing the first three episodes.

I think that’s about it for today. Being a weekend post, there really wasn’t meant to be much substance today, just some ideas and information popping out of my head about this previous month. While I don’t have any posts ready for next week, I’ll get some ready so next week will be just as action-packed as ever!

(Next month will be an interesting project; I have a concept that I will be implementing for the month of November and I hope it will be as much of a success as I anticipate.)

It’s time to start enjoyin’ the month!

Time Paradog. It just stands there.

Well, it’s time for another reflection on what has happened the week prior. While I’m happy that I’ve been able to keep up with both school and this blog, it’s actually been a bit of work. Now that midterms are coming together, it’s definitely time to step up my game and keep everything moving smoothly.

On the anime side, I haven’t really started this season as I don’t know many shows that have aired at this time. I’ve started Hayate and Little Busters!, but I’ve yet to start quite a few shows that I intend to watch. Although it’s a slow start, that’s how these seasons tend to start for me, so it’s no big deal.

I’ve been trying to get back into Xillia, and the game is just as beautiful as ever. While I intend of beating the game before its stateside release, there is just so much to do both in-game and outside of it. Between the planning of the panels I’m intending to run, and the schoolwork I have piling up, it’s going to be an uphill battle. Either way, I really enjoy doing this, and I want to do this for some time.

I don’t have much planned for today, but I have some progress made on Friday’s post, and who knows, perhaps a new Initial Impressions post will be made tomorrow. Just gotta wait and see!

Enjoyin’ Life and Takin’ Names

Every time I remember this series, the first thing to come to mind is “Colorado Bulldog.”
Heyos Everyones!!

Just another day here for me, and I can honestly say that this week has been amazing in both progress and surprises. First off, it’s the start of a new season of anime; this alone makes the week fantastic. In addition, I’ve been working on some new “Lasting Impressions” posts, one of which was released earlier this week and one that will be released later this week, so this week has been jam packed with goodies.

In terms of gaming, I haven’t done anything significant or amazing, but I’m sure that will all change once I start playing Tales of Xillia again. I’ve been staying away from those titles as they consume so much time, and I really needed to catch up on my anime backlog. On that note, I’ve still got so many series to sit down and watch, but I think I’ll still have time for that as this new season consumes much of my time.

I’ve also been in the planning stages of my panel coming up next month, which will be an amazing panel and everyone here should go. The panel is “Name that Anime Tune!” at Anime Kaigi, held in Flagstaff, AZ on November 9-11. It’s going to be great, and I’m taking measures to make sure it caters to all audiences.

If anyone reads this blog and knows what I enjoy, you should know I absolutely love the “Tales of” series. Well, if you happen to live in the U.S., you will also be happy to know that there will be the first U.S. Tales of convention held in Texas sometime next year. While I can’t do much to help organize the event, I will be doing my part to improve its successfulness, so go check out Aselia-con and support in any way you can! It’s going to be a great time, and I’m looking forward to how amazing this next year will be.

Welp, I’ve rambled on long enough. While I think this month is going to be amazing, it all comes down to how much I work to improve my current projects. This season of anime will be amazing, and I assure you, what’s remaining of this year is going to be a blast!
